The Soccer Institute at Montverde Academy (SIMA) is tallying up the college commitments and with five new student-athletes deciding their college path in soccer, the SIMA program already has 14 seniors preapred to play at the next level. SIMA and Montverde Academy pride themselves on developing student-athletes who are more than dedicated to their sport, they are focused in the classroom. All of our college commits have made an impact on the Honor Roll list but one, in particular, holds one of the most important leadership roles on campus.

Kelvin Mulyina is committed to Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Kelvin is more than a dedicated athlete to the sport of soccer; he has earned Magna Cum Laude Honor Roll recognition in his second academic quarter of his senior year. Kelvin is also a Prefect on campus, one of the top leadership roles proving that he is respected by both his peers and faculty. This Kenya native has been at Montverde Academy and on the SIMA Gold team for two years and looks to bring his dominating presence as a forward to the Mountaineers this fall.

Joao Curvo is committed to Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina. Joao has proven his dedication in the classroom earning Magna Cum Laude Honor roll recognition all three academic quarters of his senior year. The Brazilian midfielder has been at Montverde Academy for two years and looks to make his mark on the Bulldog’s roster this fall.

Matheus Maccari is committed to the University of Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana. Matheus has dedicated himself to his studies over his past three years at Montverde Academy earning Summa Cum Laude Honor Roll recognition in academic quarters two and three and Magna Cum Laude Honor Roll reignition in his first academic quarter senior year. Matheus has also proven his skill on the pitch earning SIMA Challenge Cup MVP honors in both week two and five. This Brazilian left back looks to join his teammate and fellow UIndy commit, Bryan Moreira, on the Greyhounds turf this fall.

Diogenes “Mayola” Kinyua is committed to Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina and will join SIMA Gold teammate Kelvin on the Mountaineer roster. The Kenyan midfielder has spent two years at Montverde Academy and has earned Cum Laude Honor Roll recognition during his second and third academic quarters of his senior year. Mayola will head to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina to start his college career.

Luiz Oliveira is committed to Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina and will join SIMA teammate Joao on the Bulldog’s roster. This Brazilian forward has spent two years at Montverde Academy and has earned Suma Cum Laude Honor Roll recognition all three academic quarters of his senior year. Along with being dedicated in the classroom, Luiz has also earned week one MVP honors in the SIMA Challenge Cup. Luiz looks to make a difference on the team as he moves outside the busy city of Charlotte, North Carolina this fall.

The SIMA program is unprecedented as it continues to develop top talent year after year, sending student-athletes to competitive NCAA and NAIA schools across the country. As of this year, the SIMA program has 14 college commits to NCAA Division I schools such as Northeastern University, University of Louisville, Marshall University, St. Francis University, and Appalachian State University. SIMA is also seeing NCAA Division II commitments to University of Indianapolis, University of Charleston in West Virginia, Queens University of Charlotte, King University, and Wingate University.

With the final college signing day around the corner on May 1,2019, the SIMA program is bound to see more top college commitments before the end of the semester.
