SIMA Continues to See College Commits

The Soccer Institute at Montverde Academy (SIMA) continues to release collegiate commitments as student-athletes are signing their National Letters of Intent to continue their soccer career in college. All five signees below are international boarding students at Montverde Academy and many find themselves on the quarterly Academic Honor Roll list throughout their senior year.

Luiz Sodre has committed to Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Sodre, a Brazilian native, has been a member of the SIMA program and a student at Montverde Academy for two years. He has proven to be dedicated in the classroom, earning Magna Cum Laude Honor Roll recognition in academic quarters one, two and three of his senior year. After winning SIMA Challenge Cup MVP for week six, Luiz looks to join the Norse roster in the fall as a center back.

Mario Valdes has committed to St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, Florida. Mario, originally from Mexico, has been a member of the SIMA program and a student at Montverde Academy for two years. He has one of the highest leadership roles on campus, being selected as a Prefect by his peers and MVA community. Mario looks to join the Bobcat roster in the fall as a forward.

Christopher Jensen has committed to the University of Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jensen, a Guatemalan native, has received Summa Cum Laude Honor Roll recognition all three academic quarters of his senior year. As a goalkeeper, he has spent three years in the SIMA program and has been a student at Montverde Academy. Christopher will join three other teammates on the Greyhound roster in the fall.

Ricardo Paiva has committed to Keiser University in West Palm, Florida. Ricardo, a Brazilian native, has been a member of the SIMA program and a student at Montverde Academy for two years. Ricardo has seen success in the classroom and on the field earning Magna Cum Laude Honor Roll recognition for all three quarters of his senior year and earning SIMA Challenge Cup week one MVP. Ricardo looks to join the Seahawks roster as a forward this fall.

Juan Pablo Echeverry has committed to the University of Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana. Originally from Colombia, Juan Pablo has been a member of the SIMA program and a student at Montverde Academy for two years. He not only has achieved Magna Cum Laude Honor Roll recognition for his second and third quarters of his senior year, but he has also achieved Prefect status on campus. JP looks to join the Greyhound roster as a center back, with three other teammates, this fall.

SIMA has now seen 19 college commitments for this graduating class. Colleges and universities spanning from NAIA to NCAA Divisions one through three, and NJCAA, there are opportunities for all those interested in pursuing college soccer. On Wednesday, May 1, there will be a ceremony for Montverde Academy students who are signing their National Letters of Intent to play at the collegiate level. The SIMA program will be heavily represented.
