Our 2019 SIMA graduating class has made their way across the state and received their diploma, but they are still making final decisions on where to attend college. The process can be long and grueling, but the daunting task of choosing your next destination can also be intimidating. The following student-athletes have completed the process including one junior, three seniors and one post graduate.

Gustavo Ikehara has committed to Keiser University in Orlando, Florida. The Brazilian center back has been a member of the SIMA program and a student at Montverde Academy for two years while earning Magna Cum Laude Honor Roll recognition all three academic quarters of his senior year. He will join the NAIA Seahawks roster in the fall.

Felipe Valente has committed to the Notre Dame College of Ohio in South Euclid, Ohio. The Brazilian goalkeeper has been a member of the SIMA program and a student at Montverde Academy for one year as a post graduate student. During that time he earned Magna Cum Laude Honor Roll recognition during his first academic quarter. He will join the NCAA DII Falcons roster in the fall with several SIMA teammates.

Philip Mayaka has committed to Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. The Kenyan midfielder has been a member of the SIMA program and a student at Montverde Academy for two years on the SIMA Gold roster. During his time at MVA he has earned Magna Cum Laude Honor Roll recognition for all three academic quarters of his senior year. He will join the NCAA DI Tigers roster in the fall.

Adam Kiernan has committed to Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. The American right back has been a member of the SIMA roster and a student at Montverde Academy for three years and has earned Summa Cum Laude Honor Roll recognition for all three academic quarters of his senior year. He will join the NCAA DI Lancers roster in the fall.

Peter Mangione has committed to Penn State University in State College, Pennsylvania. The American midfielder is the youngest commit this year as a junior and has been a member of the SIMA program and a student at Montverde Academy for one year. During his time he has earned Summa Cum Laude Honor Roll recognition all three academic quarters of his junior year. He looks to join the Lions roster in the fall of 2020.

Several SIMA student-athletes and recent graduates are still in the decision process and are eager to official select their next institution for learning and soccer development. The SIMA program hopes that they leave with the necessary skills to be positive contributors during the next phase of their life.
