Last week, the Soccer Institute at Montverde Academy hosted its inaugural four day Aguiluchos Summer Camp for children born between 2008 and 2014. Children enhanced their soccer technique, creativity, and space awareness. With four days on the field working with our coaches, all attending players displayed improvements in their athletic and cognitive abilities. SIMA student-athletes heading to Division I, II, and III colleges and professional teams participated in camp as volunteers. They were aids in training sessions and served as role models for the next generation of soccer athletes.

The Aguiluchos Program started in 2018 with Open Training Sessions before offering a Summer Camp to prepare for the full training schedule set to start this September. The objectives and drills are age-specific focused with up to three training sessions a week and weekend competitions.

This is part of a long term player development program at SIMA which is a seven year, 14 semester, educational training experience that prepares student-athletes for their future through soccer values and education.

The Aguiluchos program is led by Aguiluchos Technical Director Andrew Douek who holds the highest Argentinian Youth and Professional coaching licenses. Coach Douek is accompanied by SIMA staff coaches who hold the highest licenses for youth development. With the final objective of the Aguiluchos Program being to optimize player opportunities that must be achieved before the age of 12, all SIMA staff are dedicated to the growth of the student-athletes.
