F.C. Series Juniors Cup Final

ORLANDO, Fla.--  The F.C. Series not only hosted elite teams such as Arsenal and Chelsea for their Florida Cup tournament but the organization also hosted a Florida Juniors Cup including top teams from Brazil and the US with the winner playing Sunday morning at Camping World Stadium.

In the final of the F.C. Series Juniors Cup, SIMA Gold from Florida squared off against 2SV from Brazil in a barnburner of a match.

SIMA from the start created chaos through the wings finding crosses, and even winning two corners. The third one seemed to do the trick as in the 4th minute, Malang Mandiang delivered a beautiful ball from the left corner flag right on the PK spot onto Mohamed Cisse's head for a blazing header to put SIMA Gold up 1-0.

SIMA didn't put on the brakes there. SIMA stayed in 2SV's half, high pressing, searching for the second goal and creating some clear chances along the way. In the 32nd minute, SIMA had just missed a clear one and one with 2SV's goalkeeper and put it right over the bar. A minute late Stephen Annor wins the ball back himself from 2SV's goal kick and buries an almost identical chance to put SIMA up 2-0 in the 33rd minute. 2SV would start to react a bit after the second goal with a free kick that went a bit too high over the bar but SIMA continued with their style that had worked for them all game and held the result to halftime.

In the second half, SIMA continued to play the way that gave them so much success in the first half but 2SV came with a different desire searching to cut the two goal deficit.

In the 60th minute, Mohammed Ibrahim made a great run from the right wing cutting towards the middle only to find Gustavo Barbosa about 25 yards out who hits it just beautifully. A left footed laser to the Goalkeeper's upper right corner to put SIMA Gold up 3-0.

2SV was not out yet, as they looked to pull one back. Persistence was key for 2SV in the second half as they were able to break through with a with a wonderfully taken left-footed free-kick from the top of the box making the game 3-1 with over 15 minutes to be played.

SIMA tried responding the other way attacking through the flanks with a goal of their own but just couldn't find another one to add on. 2SV pushed forward again trying to find that second goal to try and create some drama in the final minutes. In the 90th minute, 2SV found their second after a great through ball from the right side towards the striker who took on SIMA's goalkeeper one on one to tuck it home.

The timing was unlucky for 2SV as SIMA had done the damage early and continued to show why they were ahead all game. In a great contest, SIMA was able to hold the 3-2 result to take home the Florida Juniors Cup.
