Many of our recent tales are those that can be described in many literary senses  as the fabled epic story. The Epic of Gilgamesh, the Iliad, and the Odyssey are all examples of these. As all epic stories begin we start with the wary traveler making their way around til their final destination. We start our story in Dallas, Texas where our epic protagonist Chase Vosvick was born. Our epic traveler made his way from the West Coast towards the East and bounced all around until he finally settled in the Old Line State: Maryland. Where he found his love for the game and the position of Goalkeeper. 

After settling in Maryland and while he attended boarding school, Vosvick found a home with the Baltimore Bays Developmental Academy. Chase showed great promise throughout the ranks of the DMV based academy and found his stride in the end of his Sophomore year of HS. As his older brother looked towards the future of college and moving to different boarding situations, a mutual friend recommended Montverde Academy due to its excellent studies and great soccer program. 

In the Summer after his Sophomore Year, Vosvick made his way to the Sunshine State to make his way to Montverde Academy. During that time leading up to the new school year, Vosvick trained all summer and couldn't believe what he was seeing. "The Diversity was just unbelievable", he stated as he saw the mix of football culture all coming together in one big melting pot known as the SIMA Program. "It really gave a different level of play that I was used to back home". In a place where he always felt he had to be at his top level both on and off the field, he saw the importance of the academic side through MVA. He also saw the motto of La Familia to ring true throughout in his stay with the program. "Definitely my favorite value because it mirrored my upbringing, ", he recalls after a tough match when he was going through a hard time off the field that the team didn't care about anything on the field but everything off.  After two great years with the SIMA program and a couple of college offers on the table, Chase was ready for his next step. 

With two important offers on the table: One from WCC Powerhouse University of Portland and one from hometown school Loyola coached by  a former coach in the Baltimore Bays Development Academy. "I really wanted to go to college and be able to play straight away." stated Vosvick. With the Portland Pilots being deep at the #1 position, the Greyhounds of Loyola University Maryland found their new GK. 

In his 5 year tenure with the Greyhounds, he started in almost every match he played in. He was the rookie of the year in his first year and won the Patriot League GK of the Year 4 times. He also helped the Greyhounds reach their first NCAA Tournament appearance in his fifth year and also received a MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List honor! As his time in college ended it was time to look towards the future and what it had to offer at the next level of football.   

After a stellar career in college, In early 2022 Vosvick was invited for a combine among MLS and USL scouts and generated the interest of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL Championship and signed until the end of the year with a possibility for a second year extension. Vosvick made a good impression straight away with the Riverhounds starting in his first match and posting a shutout, but as the first season came to a close and the offer to extend for a second year didn't come Chase found himself looking for his next destination. While searching for another club a familiar voice in a former coach of the Baltimore Bays would check in every so often to see what his situation was looking like and if he would interested in making the jump to a different type of soccer: Major Arena Soccer League. In late 2022, Vosvick made his way to the Harrisburg Heat for their 2022-23 campaign and proved to be very important as he earned the starting job straight away and started in 18 matches. As the season came to a close, Chase decided that he would not be returning to the Heat for the upcoming season as wanted to pursue other ventures not on the field but off the field. 

After much thought and consideration, Chase has decided to go back to school to pursue a Graduate Degree in Sports Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and is currently taking finals in his first semester of the program! 

"Work hard... I now see the lessons that I learned everyday from my experience in the program." states Vosvick. A piece of advice that he gives current and future SIMA student-athletes is to "focus on the long term".
