Montverde Academy Wins Sixth Straight MAST

For the sixth straight year, Montverde Academy are champions.

For the sixth straight year, Montverde Academy are champions.

In the sixth year of the Montverde Academy Soccer Tournament (MAST), the Eagles went 3-0 and claimed the title for the sixth time.

The Eagles defeated Watsonville (CA), St. Paul's (LA), and Paramount (CA) over three days to extend their win streak to 157 matches.

This year's MAST featured eight teams, four from Florida and four from around the country. Teams from California, Louisiana, and Texas.

Also, new this year was the international showcase that included SIMA, The USA Men's National U-17 team, Flamengo (Brazil) and Feyenoord (Netherlands). SIMA took the inaugural championship with a 2-0-1 (7 points) record through the weekend.

"We worked hard the entire season to keep this trophy home. It's much more difficult to defend the title specially against international teams but our guys did it", said U-17 head coach Anderson Cardoso.
