The second edition of our Aguiluchos Open Training Sessions was held at Montverde Academy on Saturday, February 16. Over 60 children ages four through 10 experienced the soccer program that is focused on learning to love the game through fun, age-specific training.

With six Orlando City Development Academy coaches and 15 SIMA student-athletes volunteering, they guided the young players in games designed to develop motor skills and ignite creativity in their decision making.

“The ultimate goal of today’s session was to transform kid’s energy into enthusiasm for soccer,” said Aguiluchos Program Co-Director and Orlando City Development Academy U13 Head Coach Ryan Rademacher.

Our Aguiluchos program is a stepping stone that provides young athletes the ability and opportunity to discover their passion for the sport while learning from seasoned professionals and SIMA student-athletes.

“This is the first step in creating a large youth soccer community at Montverde Academy,” said Aguiluchos Program Co-Director and Orlando City Development Academy U12 Head Coach Andrew Douek. “Someday we hope to see these little eagles as the next student-athletes representing SIMA and the Orlando City Development Academy.”

This event featured a great family atmosphere and left the kids asking for more soccer. The SIMA and Orlando City SC partnership will offer three more opening training sessions throughout the spring. Join the next open training session by registering through the link below.
