The SIMA Pre-Academy Training Program is designed for children aged U6 to U12. For the 2023-24 season starting August 2023, this will be boys and girls born between 2012 and 2018.
Players in this program follow the SIMA Long Term Player Development plan. It focuses on the individual development of each player with age-appropriate games and drills.
Coaches look to develop their sportsmanship values, technical and motor skills through a pedagogical approach based on positive feedback and a safe learning environment.
Each age group has a limited number of participants selected to ensure the quality of the training sessions, and features a low player-to-coach ratio. Current and former SIMA Student-Athletes volunteer as assistants.
Training sessions are held at Montverde Academy from 6.15PM.
SIMA Pre-Academy Gold teams starting in U8 age are set to participate in Central Florida Regional leagues and tournaments. We also organize events for younger participants and those who are starting to discover soccer.
The leagues are based on a regional based schedule that allows an age-appropriate balance between family, school and athletics.
Games will be a part of the training process in which the main objective is to optimize the abilities of our student athletes.
Coach Andrew Douek is currently a SIMA staff coach with vast knowledge in developing young soccer athletes. He has international, MLS Development Academy, and SIMA coaching experience while holding the highest Argentinian youth and professional coaching licenses.
